Sorry folks, due to a severe loss of TWANG, the ULTIMATE SMOOTH project had to be scrapped. At least y'all get an EP out of it...

Shout Out Louds: Our Ill Wills

At first the listener will think, "Oh, this is nice and all, but they've lost the roughness that made 'Huff Huff Gaff Gaff' into such a fun tour de force, etc. etc." but then the track 'Impossible' is reached, and anyone who does not despise pop will sit up and exclaim a woop of joy. The Shout Out Louds have crafted an exceptionally re-listenable, fun, sad album. They've also added guest vocals by lithesome swedish maidens, which was really all I ever asked for, from God and country. Thanks, boys.
The Comas: Spells

Having been exposed to the Comas' previous album, 'Conductor' at just the right time and place and mental poopitude in my life (it's a breakup album, dammit) I was worried that I would be prejudiced against any further albums by these songsters. And I was. I just couldn't recapture that epic feeling I received from 'Conductor'. I kept listening, though, and this album deserves a spin. Overall it seems smaller, but some tracks achieve a grandeur ('Now I'm a Spider' in particular) that matches or exceeds that of 'Conductor'. Further, the tracks that rock, such as 'Come on Sunshine', really fucking rock, with an energy that just doesn't come from heartbreak. Good shit, this.
Bjork: Volta

Oh. Did Bjork make another album? Yup. Another Bjork album. Yay.

In a ridiculous one-night explosion of cathartic rock ecstasy, Nate and I have created...
The very first THE HUMUNGOUS breakup EP.

I told this guy at work I'd write this song for him and I did. So there.
I like the percussion... it's just some drumsticks and a cardboard box and this awesome book Christine gave me.

You may enjoy this reaction to their music by my former nemisis and pummelling-horse Jeb Lund, from his MySpace blog.
Click this, betch!
The crowning glory is his "Decembrists" lyric parody, written under the influence of an egg timer. Enjoy!

And yes, I know I ripped off the "Ode to Joy". That's the point, dingus.

Some of these songs really deserve "Full Band" versions, but here it is. Excepting of course, the hidden track.

I'd be so urban youth if I wasn't suburban old.
They talked me out of disconnecting my cable. I ended up hooking it into my TV so sometimes I watch while going on... MySpace. (The Enemy)
